Robinho snubbed me.

GUUS HIDDINK has revealed how Robinho snubbed him in favour of a big pay cheque - just like he did to Chelsea last summer.

Hiddink thought he had signed the Brazilian star for PSV Eindhoven when the striker was 17, but instead Robinho chose cash-rich Real Madrid.

The two come face to face at Stamford Bridge today, and Hiddink believes the Manchester City star should have put his career first.

Hiddink (left) said: "Robinho is a very attractive player.

"I had the plan when I was manager at PSV to sign him and I went to meet him in Brazil.

"We were close to succeeding because we had the same plan we had with Romario and Ronaldo - that before going to a big league it's good to go to a league where they can get used to European football.

"At the last moment Real Madrid came in and then you're out of the game."
