RAK aggregates supplier signs Etihad Rail deal.

GIBCA Crushing and Quarry Operations (GIBCA Crusher) has signed an agreement with Etihad Rail that will eventually lead to its aggregates being delivered to new distribution and export terminals across the country.

GIBCA Crusher, which was founded in 1976 and is based in Ras Al Khaimah, currently supplies aggregates for concrete and asphalt across the UAE and in some neighbouring countries.

Its deal with Etihad Rail will eventually see it connecting via rail to Jebel Ali, Misaffah, Ruwais, Saqr Port and Fujairah Port.

Eng. Faris Saif Al Mazrouei, acting CEO of Etihad Rail, said: "Agreements with aggregates producers such as GIBCA Crusher are essential for the evolution of the UAE's rail transport infrastructure, as it will form a vital part of the construction industry's supply chain.

"This will facilitate a more efficient delivery of aggregates from the Northern Emirates to construction markets not only within the UAE, but also within region and abroad."

GIBCA Group corporate development director, Sheikh Saqer Bin Khalid Al Qassimi, added: "The MoU with Etihad Rail will allow GIBCA Crushers to enhance our existing supply chain to meet evolving business needs, ultimately helping us to cater more efficiently to our key markets in the UAE and beyond."
