Organ CD to keep churches on song; EISTEDDFOD NEWS IN BRIEF.

A NEW CD of 50 well-known hymns played on the organ, along with a handbook listing hymns which can be sung to the accompaniment, was launched at the Eisteddfod yesterday.

Many chapels and churches are without an organist and this CD aims to allow those congregations to continue singing their favourite hymns with accompaniment.

Available from the churches pavilion on the Maes or from the Union of Welsh Independents' Office at Swansea, the project was coordinated by Gwawr Owen, based on the idea by the Rev Carys Ann and her husband Maldwyn.

The hymns were played by Rob Nicholls on the organ at Y Tabernacl Welsh Baptist chapel on The Hayes in Cardiff.
