NIWFA This week's heroes are Valerie, Colette and everyone else at the NIWFA. Myself and my wife formed a woman's football team in 2017 - and are about to start our first ever season, playing in Division 4. We attended the association's hugely impressive launch event on Wednesday night and were blown away by the amount of work that has gone into putting this league together - and indeed the amount of interest that's been generated in recent times. The league has 39 teams completing across five divisions - which means literally hundreds of women from all over the province are getting to play senior football at a competitive level, in a well organised league. You'll be able to see scores, tables and read match reports in the Daily Mirror and via Belfast Live - both are big supporters of the NIWFA, to their credit. Just make sure look out for your new favourite team, plucky underdogs the Belfast Ravens!
