Moon humpback associates with Jupiter Saturday.
Moon -- Ahmed Waheed CAIRO -- 21 July 2018: The Waning Gibbous Moon is near Jupiter, in a phenomenon that can be observed with the naked eye in the skies of the Arab region, according to Jeddah Astronomy Society Saturday. Jeddah Astronomy Society reported that Jupiter will be visible as a red point of light, adding that through the use of a telescope, it is easy to see Jupiter's disc and the main surface features of the moon. The moon and Jupiter will be visible within the same frame through a telescope, but they are not close to each other in space. Jeddah Astronomy Society further added that the moon is the nearest celestial body to us; it is about 243,000 kilometers away, while Jupiter is the fifth planet in terms of distance from the sun, which is located more than 1,900 times the distance of the moon to the Earth away. The moon will also meet Saturn on July 24 and then move towards Mars on July 27 in conjunction with the lunar eclipse, Jeddah Astronomy Society reported.
