Irish-born cop is in hot water.

Byline: By JULIAN BROUWER

AMERICA'S "top cop'' is in trouble again after a new report accused his department of unlawfully searching and manhandling demonstrators.

Dublin-born John Timoney, the Miami police chief, will be embarrassed at allegations that his officers arrested pensioners, threatened parishioners on their way to church, threw demonstrators to the ground and even used tear gas on some of them.

The document released by Miami's Civilian Investigative Panel could not come at a worse time for Timoney whose son Sean is awaiting sentencing for attempting to sell half-a-million dollars of drugs to undercover detectives.

Fred Frost, president of the South Florida American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, has demanded Timoney be held accountable for the actions of his officers.
