Hyundai wins $1.94bn Abu Dhabi offshore deal.

Hyundai Heavy Industries Co (HHI) has been awarded a $1.94bn contract from Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Co (ADMA-OPCO) for a major offshore oil & gas project.

The firm has won the package of a project known as the Nasr Full Field development taking place off the coast of Abu Dhabi.

Once the five-year project is complete (due H2 2019), the field's capacity will increase from the current level of 22,000 barrels of oil per day up to 65,000 barrels.

HHI has said that it will carry out engineering, procurement, construction, installation and commissioning work for the huge complex, which will involve building a gas treatment platform, a separation platform, an accommodation platform, laying 144km of subsea power and 55km of infield cables.

It also involves modifying an existing manifold tower and two wellhead towers in the field, which is 130km northwest of Abu Dhabi.

ADMA-OPCO is a wholly-owned division of Abu Dhabi National Oil Co.
