Federation of Bakers extends its membership.

The Lesaffre Group--a leading company involved in the development, manufacturing and sale of yeast for the baking, brewing and distilling industries has joined the Federation of Bakers as its 12th Associate Member.

Established in Scotland in 1853, the Lesaffre Group has been a yeast producer for more than 150 years and the company has now become a leading supplier of fresh yeast in the UK market through its subsidiary, DCL yeast.

Gordon Polson, Director for the Federation of Bakers says: "We are extremely pleased to welcome the Lesaffre Group to the Federation of Bakers. With every new member, the collective voice of the Federation of Bakers grows as we seek to drive the industry toward a position of continued strength." Mike Abrahams of the Lesaffre Group, comments: "We are looking forward to the benefits of associate membership with the Federation and are very pleased at now being part of a large and well respected organisation like the Federation of Bakers."

The Federation of Bakers represents over 90% of the UK plant baking industry. It also counts among its members current associates ADM Milling, APV Baker, British Bakels, CCFRA, Cereform, Croda Food Services, DSM Bakery Ingredients, Edme, Fuerst Day Lawson, Linpac Materials Handling and Puratos.
