THE 48th annual Lampeter Spring Horse and Pony Show, exclusively for Welsh breeds of stallions and youngstock, attracted almost 800 superb entries from many of the best breeders across England and Wales.

Mr Jones was described by committee chairman Daniel Morgan as a true stalwart of the organising committee, who had attended every show to date and was even a participant in the years before the event became officially recognised by the Welsh Pony and Cob Society.

This year's Supreme Champion was the 11-year-old Cob type stallion Tremymor Sportsman, bred by Dewi Jones of Bethania, Aberystwyth. Got by Nebo Bouncer out of Tremymor Lucky Charm, he was Section C champion at the Royal Welsh in 2004.
