Date set for annual coop and condo conference.

The Federation of New York Housing Cooperatives and Condominiums will present its annual one-day educational conference on Saturday, April 29, 2006 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the LaGuardia Crowne Plaza, 104-04 Ditmars Boulevard, East Elmhurst, Queens, announced Gregory J. Carlson, executive director of the Federation.

Seven seminars will be presented by leading professionals in the industry including attorneys A1 Pennisi, Pennisi Daniels Norelli, Ron Gold, Kagan Luber Lepper Lewis & Gold and Eric Weiss, Tuchman Katz Schwartz Gelles Korngold & Weiss; management company executive David Baron, Metro Management Development and industry experts Josh Goldman, Bargold Storage Systems, Steve Chen, Crystal Windows and Raymond Lou, MMTS.

The seminar topics include Through The Looking Glass: Replacing Your Windows, Enclosing Terraces and Alternative Front Door Entrances; Setting the Record Straight: The Latest Legislation and Court Rulings and How They Affect Your Co-op and Condo: Environmental Concerns: Mold, Lead Paint and Pest Infestation; Services That Can Produce Revenue For Your Building; Fine-Tuning Your Finances: How to Manage and Bring Down Your Top Budget Line Items; Intro to Board Member Training and Attorney's Round Table.

"Never has it been more important for board members, shareholders and unit owners to be aware of the legal, financial and regulatory issues that affect their homes," states Mr. Carlson. "Most buildings are living at the brink of their budgets dealing with sky-rocketing insurance rates, fuel costs and complying with legislative initiatives. This conference has been formulated to help them get a grip on expenses and discover alternative, and sometimes unconventional, methods to better manage and enhance their properties."

To further enhance the educational experience, the Federation has changed the conference format. Instead of, as in years past, having two or sometimes three seminars going on at the same time, there will be seven, 50-minute seminars in an auditorium setting.

Admission for Federation, Council of New York Cooperatives (CNYC), Coordinating Council of Cooperatives (CCC) and any other affiliated cooperative organization members is $65 with discounts for multiple reservations from the same corporation. Non-members pay $125. All attendees receive complimentary breakfast and lunch. Call 718-760-7540 for reservations or visit the Federation website www.fnyhc.coop.
