Cup success is doubly satisfying; Pin Point Recruitment Women's League.
ALNWICK Town completed a league and cup double after lifting the Pin Point Recruitment Women's League Cup.
They defeated Newbiggin Hall 6-1 in the final at Gateshead Stadium.
Alnwick reached the final without playing a game, receiving a bye and a walkover, while Newbiggin Hall beat Wallsend BCL Reserves 3-0. Alnwick, who dominated the fiveteam league, added the League Cup thanks to a brace by Amy Lawson.
Jade Barrett, Claire Munro, Larissa Brown and Kirstie Tang added their names to the scoresheet.
The majority of the side is made up of players from the Lowick United squad which resigned from the North East Regonal Women's League midway through the 2016 season.
Town hope to play in the NERWFL next season - the league will consider their application at their forthcoming annual meeting.
