Connery: Director is lunatic.
Byline: TOBY McDONALDSEAN Connery stunned guests at the premiere of his latest film when he claimed its director should be in a lunatic asylum.
The movie legend fell out with Stephen Norrington on the set of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
And when asked why the director wasn't at the launch night, he snapped: "Have you checked the local asylum?
"Ask me about someone I like, will you? Everyone else in the film was a pleasure to work with. Not him."
In the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen classic literary characters including Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, the Invisible Man, Capt Nemo and adventurer Allan Quartermain - played by Sir Sean - team up to save the world.
The pounds 55million movie was beset by problems.
Connery threatened to have Norrington, 38, fired after he stopped filming for a day because he "didn't like the way an elephant gun looked".
