BLYTH Valley MP Ronnie Campbell is urging people to make sure they are claiming the benefits they are entitled to.

He made the call after statistics showed that fewer people in Northumberland claim for attendance allowance and other benefits.

Mr Campbell said: "I am pleading with people to have their entitlement to benefits checked if only to make sure they are not missing out.

"There are many organisations that can help carry out a simple check for people and these cost nothing.'' He added: "My office is happy to help refer people in the right direction and offer support wherever it is needed.''
