It's been earmarked as THE colour of the year for 2019 by colour experts Pantone. And with its nurturing tone and ability to pair so well with different hues of blue, green, gold and grey, it's no surprise living coral is going to be huge in design in the months ahead.

Make a statement with a coral armchair or settee, style it out with a strong feature wall in paint or paper or brighten up a plain space with some stunningly subtle touches. Try pairing with gold-toned metallics for a touch of retro glamour.

And if you're trying to explain just exactly what coral is, think a chilled-out terracota or warm, pinky-orange. An earthy, calming colour to bring peace and tranquility to 2019.
