Bogus officer walked into woman's home.

POLICE have released an e-fit image of a baby-faced suspect after a man walked into a woman's home in Heckmondwike posing as a police officer.

The incident happened at around 4pm on March 16 when a 26-year-old woman was home with her two children and heard her front door open. The man entered the house in Cemetery Road and confronted the victim who was in the living room, telling her he was from the police.

But as she picked up the phone to call the police, the man tried to grab it from her before fleeing the house.

Det Con Cath Lowdon from Kirklees District CID said: "Fortunately the victim was uninjured in the incident but has been left shaken by what took place.

"Any police officer wanting to speak to a member of the public will always show valid identification, including a warrant card, and would not enter a property in this manner.

"This kind of deception will not be tolerated and it's vital we identify this man."

The suspect is described as a white, aged 20 to 30, 5ft 4ins tall with a thin build, bald head and a baby face.

He wore dark clothing at the time of the incident.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kirklees District CID on 101 and quoting crime reference number 131501062
