Bhutto was saviour not killer: Dr Firdous Ashiq.

ISLAMABAD, April 26, 2011 (Frontier Star): Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan said on Monday that Bhutto was a human saviour not a killer and the government filed the reference to correct the mistake of history by getting the case of his judicial murder reviewed. Talking to PTV she said if Bhutto reference case is decided according to the spirit of justice the question mark at the face of judiciary would be removed. She said in any murder case all aspects of the trial are completed, but Bhutto was not even facilitated to express his personal request of exclusion of a judge from the trial bench who was biased to him. If any accused shows apprehensions about any judge who hold the trial, legally that very judge cannot sit in the trial bench she said. The Bhutto trial was carried out so speedily that the standard of justice was ignored. She said that the main object of filing this reference was to expose conspirant elements. She expressed her hope that the judgement in Bhutto reference case would be a historical remedy for future generations and no conspirant would dare to misuse it again. She said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) did not want to take revenge and would come forward to join hand with all political parties in the greater interest of the country.
