Batelco enter final.

BATELCO and Pioneers teams reached the final of the Bapco Cup Bowling Championship, part of the Industrial Bowling League, after wins over Bapco and GPIC respectively.

In the first of this two semi-final playoffs, played at Bapco Club premises in Awali, GPIC went down to the Pioneers by a 147-point margin.

Noora Powers was the top scorer for GPIC who managed a total of 2,183. She also fired the team's high game and series scores of 245 and 709 respectively.

On the other hand, veterans Mahmood Rajab and skipper Nabeel Khalifa powered the Pioneers to a 2,330 total and scored the high series and game of 629 and 257.

Contested

Batelco followed suit, defeating Bapco by 150 points in a closely-contested game to set up the title show down.

Batelco, who managed a high total of 2,589, were relying on their national team star Fawaz Abdulla who top scored with a 258 high game as well as capturing the team's high series of 720.

Bapco managed a total of 2,439 with Arab champion Yousef Falah doing the bulk of the job with a perfect game of 300 points as well as the team's 722 high series.

The final showdown between Batelco and the Pioneers is scheduled for tomorrow at the same venue. It will be followed by the closing ceremony of the Industrial Bowling League.
