FIELD HOCKEY

New England College 4, Nichols 2

The fifth-seeded Bison (15-6) fell to the second-seeded Pilgrims (14-6) in the Commonwealth Coast Conference championship game yesterday in Henniker, N.H.

New England College rallied in the second half with three goals.

Sara Bailey of Athol tied a Nichols single-season record with her 22nd goal in the 60th minute on a feed from Lauren Pettoruto, who recorded both assists.

Pettoruto also assisted on a goal by junior co-captain Brittany Case, who tied the game at 1-1 with her second goal of the season at 12:55.

The ECAC Championship selections will be announced tomorrow with tournament games starting Wednesday.

ICE HOCKEY

Nichols 5, Becker 4

Anthony Monte scored the winning goal at 6:38 of the third period to lift the Bison (2-0) past the Hawks in the championship game of the Dunkin' Donuts Cup at the New England Sports Center in Marlboro.

Assumption 4, Framingham St. 3

Sophomore Atte Uola scored the winning goal with just over 2:30 left to lift the Greyhounds (1-1) over the Rams (0-2) in the consolation game of the Dunkin' Donuts Cup.

WOMEN'S SOCCER

Holy Cross 1, Lafayette 0

Freshman Caitlin Belanger broke a scoreless tie with one minute left in the first half to lift the Crusaders (4-14, 2-5 Patriot League) to a win in their regular season finale at Easton, Pa.
