Azerbaijan defeats Faroe Islands in UEFA Nations League.

The Azerbaijani national football team in the away match against the team of the Faroe Islands won a convincing victory with a score of 3:0.

The game of the third round of the League of Nations Group 3 Division D between the football teams of Azerbaijan and the Faroe Islands took place on Thursday, October 11, in Torshavn.

Team of Gurban Gurbanov opened the scoring in the 28th minute of the meeting. Richard Almeida marked the exact blow.

After the break, Dmitri Nazarov doubled advantage of Azerbaijani team, scoring the second goal against the home side.

At the 85th minute of the match, Ruslan Gurbanov was shot down in the penalty area. The penalty appointed by the referee was realized by Richard Almeida.

In another match of the third round of the League of Nations Group 3 Division D, the national team of Kosovo beat the team of Malta. The meeting was held in Pristina (Kosovo) at the Fadil Vokri stadium and ended with the score 3-1 in favor of the hosts.

Thus, after three rounds, the Kosovo national team remains the leader of the group with 7 points.

Having won the first victory in the group, the Azerbaijani team rose to the second place in the group.

The Faroe Islands and Malta are ranked third and fourth with 3 and 1 points respectively.

The next matches in the group will be held on October 14. On their field, the team of the Faroe Islands will play with the team of Kosovo. The Azerbaijani team in Baku will try to get a second victory in a row in a match against Malta.
