25 PINTS ATTACK.

A YOUNG mum who wants to study to be a midwife assaulted a policewoman outside a nightclub after downing 25 lagers during an eight-hour drinking session.

Jade Nanson, 19, was in a distressed state after losing her mobile phone when she grabbed an innocent man by the throat, believing he had it, a court was told. As police tried to get her to let go she kicked one in the stomach. Nanson pleaded guilty to using threatening behaviour, and obstructing and assaulting an officer. Carlisle magistrates imposed a 36-hour attendance centre order.

Geoff Clapp, defending, said the phone was important to her as it had pictures of her child on it.
