A horizontal band resaw is used to convert thick slabs or flitches coming from the band headrig into boards and/or dimension lumber which are subsequently routed to a twin saw edger for edging and then to the
gangsaw trimmer for trimming purposes.

Sawmill A was a hardwood sawmill located in Tennessee and had one headrig, one resaw, and one
gangsaw. Sawmill A produced primarily 4/4-thickness red oak (Quercus rubra).

gangsaw slabs, tiles, countertops, monuments, and stone articles using premium-quality granite, sandstone, limestone, slate, marble, and quartzite stones.
In terms of machine centers, at sawmills A and D the logs were four-sided at a headsaw before being sent to a line-bar resaw and later to a
gangsaw. At sawmills B and C the logs were processed using only a headsaw and a
gangsaw.
Currently, the northern sandstone-manufacturing unit, and south India located granite unit is completely busy in manufacturing slabs, tiles, countertops,
gangsaw, monuments and stone articles for the new customers.
The second mill used the term "linebar deviation," referring to cants not being properly held against the
gangsaw linebar.
