Cyanophyceae (blue-green algae), Chlorophyceae (green algae), Bacillariophyceae and
Chrysophyceae are the most cultivated microalgae.
6 classes of species vis-a-vis, Bacillariophyceae-Diatoms (70.4%), the Chlorophyceae-Chlorophytes (20.4%), Cyanophyceae-Blue-green algae (5.6%),
Chrysophyceae (1.9%) Dinophyceae (1.1%) and Euglenophyceae (0.5%) were recorded.

In deeper euphotic zone communities, where photosynthetic cells dominated, dot-blot, clone library, and molecular characterization of cells sorted by flow cytometry found that phylogenetic groups that are usually mixotrophic, such as Haptophytes (Prymnesiophytes) or dinoflagellates, or that might contain mixotrophs (such as the
Chrysophyceae among photosynthetic Heterokonts/Stramenopiles) were important or dominant among chlorophyll-containing cells (Lepere et al., 2009; Shi et al., 2009, 2011).
In this study, we identified 639 taxa distributed into 11 classes: Cyanophyceae (200), Chlorophyceae (124), Bacillariophyceae (116), Zygnemaphyceae (104), Euglenophyceae (24),
Chrysophyceae (20), Oedogoniophyceae (20), Xanthophyceae (17), Cryptophyceae (11), Rhodophyceae (2) and Dinophyceae (1).
35 phytoplankton taxa were recorded of which 10 (28.6%) belong to Chlorophyceae (green algae) and Bacillariophyceae (diatom) respectively, 6 (17.1%) to Euglenophyceae (green flagellates), 3 (8.6%) to Cyanophyceae (blue-green algae),
Chrysophyceae and Xanthophyceae respectively.
The algae were Bacillariophyceae (diatoms), 80 species; Chlorophyceae (green algae), 44 species; Cyanophyceae (blue-green algae), 21 species; Euglenophyceae (euglenin), 6 species; Pyrrophyceae (dinoflagellates), 4 species; Xanthophyceae (xanthophytes), 2 species; and
Chrysophyceae (chrysophytes), 1 species.

Water samples were collected fortnightly for qualitative and quantitative estimation of plankton and showed four genera of Chlorophyceae, one genera of
Chrysophyceae and three genera of Bacillariophyceae.
