Jane had a long history with the YMCA and from 1954 to 1985 co-directed (with her sister Jan) Camp Idlepines for Girls in New Hampshire, where her campers and counselors affectionately called her "Aunt Jane." She was active in the
ACA and served on the board of the New Hampshire Camp Directors Association.
