Rodri won the player of the tournament at Euro 2024 despite coming off at half-time in Spain’s 2-1 win over England in the final.
That means every winner of the player of the award since its introduction in 1996 has come from the side who won the tournament, which is something to consider for Euro 2028.
The odds for the award in four years time have yet to be released but you can find all you need to know for now below.

Yamal could be unbeatable in 2028
Lamine Yamal was the odds-on favourite for the Euro 2024 player of the tournament award before the final, in which he set up Spain’s opening goal in their 2-1 win over England.
However, it was his team-mate Rodri, who went off with an injury at half-time in the final, who won the award.
It may have been too soon for the 17-year-old this time around but he won the young player of the tournament award and Euro 2028 could be the time for him to land this prize.
Yamal scored once and provided a record four assists at Euro 2024, as he became the first player ever to register goal contributions in the quarter-final, semi-final and final of a European Championship.
Other players who could be among the player of the tournament favourites at Euro 2028 including Yamal’s Spain team-mates Pedri and Nico Williams.
Englandfans will hope Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Bukayo Saka and Cole Palmer are among the contenders, while France skipper Kylian Mbappe and Jamal Musiala of Germany should be in the running.
