Xerneas, the fairy-type Legendary Pokémon, is finally in Pokémon Go’s five star raids from May 4-18.

Since the Legendary Xerneas is fairy-type, it’s time to break out all your steel- and poison-types that have been hiding away.

When raiding against Xerneas, we recommend using the following:

  • Dialga with Metal Claw and Iron Head
  • Excadrill with Metal Claw and Iron Head
  • Roserade with Poison Jab and Sludge Bomb
  • Genesect with Metal Claw and Magnet Bomb

If you have Beedrill Mega Energy, you can also use Mega Beedrill with Poison Jab and Sludge Bomb. Mega Gengar with Lick or Shadow Claw paired with Sludge Bomb will also do quite a bit of damage. Ideally for the most damage, you’ll also want it to be snowy or cloudy, since this will give you weather boost.

Xerneas is an OK fairy-type Pokémon, solely because its quick moves stunt it. It doesn’t have any fairy-type quick moves, so until then, set it up with Zen Headbutt and Moonblast to do the most damage. You’re probably better off using Togekiss and Gardevoir until Xerneas gets better moves.
