F1 schedule: When is the next F1 race and where is it being held?

The view from Spa-Francorchamps, the next race on the F1 schedule.

Next up on the F1 schedule is the Belgian Grand Prix, at one of the sport's iconic tracks.

The F1 schedule has expanded to a record 24 races for the 2024 season, with the calendar more packed than ever.

We have now passed the halfway point of the 2024 campaign, with the European season in full swing and the teams in full flow as the calendar takes in its traditional heartland, before returning to the ‘flyaway’ races later in the year.

Which race is next on the F1 schedule?

Round 14: Belgian Grand Prix

The fifth race in just six weekends will also be the last before Formula 1’s summer break, with the sport heading to the Belgian Grand Prix for round 14 of 24 in a record-breaking calendar.

It has been a jam-packed section of races that has seen multiple teams compete and earn victories with a highly-competitive field so far this year, that has no sign of slowing down just yet.

Next up, the sport heads back to one of the tracks that always feature among the drivers’ favourites of the year, right up there with Suzuka, Silverstone, Monza and Monaco among the crown jewels of the true ‘drivers’ circuits’ in Formula 1.

When is the Belgian Grand Prix?

The Belgian Grand Prix will take place from Friday 26 until Sunday 28 July, with the race getting underway at 3pm local time [2pm BST] on Sunday 28 July 2024.

Where is the Belgian Grand Prix?

Spa-Francorchamps, nestled in the Ardennes, is self-styled on the track’s own website as being ‘the most beautiful circuit in the world’ – though they may be a little bit biased.

That being said, there is no doubting the location of the track is stunning, and the circuit, which has evolved into its current 7.004km configuration over the course of a century, remains a huge driving challenge adored by drivers and fans alike.

The flat-out climb up Eau Rouge and Raidillon is a daunting, dangerous task in a Formula 1 car, with the sweeps of Les Combes, high G-forces of Pouhon, Stavelot and Blanchimont all iconic among the calendar.

One of the fastest circuits in Formula 1, with a great degree of elevation change and a long history in the sport, Spa remains one of the most-loved tracks on the calendar to this day.

Is the Belgian Grand Prix an F1 Sprint weekend?

No, the Sprint format will not be in place for the Belgian Grand Prix, with the next running of the Sprint set to come at the United States Grand Prix at Austin in October.
