Who doesn’t love a good space adventure? From the moment you strap in and the thrusters ignite, that unparalleled sense of venturing into the unknown kicks in. 2019’s Deliver Us the Moon took that adventure to Earth’s nearest neighbor in a puzzle- and exploration-filled story. Now, Deliver Us Mars is coming on September 27 to take players even further, with a wider-reaching narrative journey, intricate new platforming mechanics, and tons more gameplay depth.

Deliver Us Mars takes place 10 years after the Fortuna mission at the heart of Deliver Us the Moon. While experience of the first game may give you a better sense of the background of the world you’ll be stepping into, it’s certainly not a requirement to enjoy this game. Deliver Us Mars is a standalone sci-fi adventure that mixes epic stakes and rich, personal-feeling storytelling.

In this game, you’ll play as Kathy Johanson, a young astronaut who joins the crew of the Zephyr space shuttle to help recover the ARKs, vast terraforming vessels that were stolen years earlier by the shadowy organization known as Outward.

With Earth in terminal environmental decline, only retrieving the ARKs can give humanity a fighting chance at reversing the damage done to our planet. Questions remain, however: what happened to Outward's colonists after the ARKs were stolen? How intact are they now? And what exactly are the ARKs capable of? Players will uncover the answers in this narrative-rich third-person adventure.

It’s more than just Earth that’s on the line in Deliver Us Mars, though — it’s also family. A mysterious message from the Red Planet has given Kathy an ulterior motive for joining the mission. When she was a young girl, her father, Isaac, was forced to abandon his daughter and join Outward as it stole the ARKs. Kathy’s not just on Mars to help save humanity, then: she wants the answers behind the disappearance of her long-estranged father.

Throughout the adventure, you’ll face tricky puzzles that have greatly expanded on those found in Deliver Us the Moon. An all-new and intricate set of platforming mechanics will see Kathy traverse craters, icey valleys, and martian dust storms. Players will float through zero-gravity, go scuba diving and even experience the launch sequence inside a space shuttle.

Developer KeokeN Interactive is delivering the game with cinematic flair. The experience of space is pushed even further, as the studio consulted with scientific experts to deliver authenticity to players, right down to the launch sequence. PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S also get a visual fidelity boost with real-time ray tracing for shadows and reflections in the game.

If you want to blast off of Earth and be one of the first to put boots on Mars, Frontier is offering a pre-order discount for Deliver Us Mars on PC and consoles. The game is just $29.99, but it’s 10% off for those who pre-order. PC players can also nab the Deluxe Edition with the original soundtrack for $35, or pre-order it for that same 10% discount.
