I made this mod because I never liked the torch fire. When I first made NewFires, I actually wanted to edit torches aswell but I could not find any suitable particle system for it so I just didn't in the end.

Now I've instead decided to actually dwelve into it and edit a particle system I liked, I created and baked a completely new custom fire texture animation for it and also created a completely new smoke particle system for the torch. I also added a distortion-like effect to simulate heat distortion coming off the flames. Because why not right?

While it is not perfect because I'm not VFX artist obviously and because particle editing with Wolvenkit is tedious af due to no visual feedback and no documentation, I think it came out good enough to be worth of uploading on here. I tried to make a better detailed flame than vanilla was and I was finally satisfied with it.

This is the list of files I have edited (for any mod conflicts).

Here's a quick comparison (although a screenshot of a moving particle doesn't really give it justice, it is better seen in game ofc. But it should give you a general idea)

In regard to the flame and smoke itself (brightness, color etc) I tried to make it as balanced as possible, but being tied to env colorgroups it will look fairly different between weathers and regions, especially if you use any lighting mod. But the final result should not look too different, unless you use an extreme lighting overhaul.

This was created on Witcher 3 Next gen (4.01), so I don't know if it is going to work on old gen. Feel free to test it though. Mind you I don't have old gen installed and I can't (and won't) install it to resolve possible bugs with it. I hope you understand. :)
