About this mod
Imitates the Renegade Captain's toughness shield, with visual and sound effects!
>Gives the player a bubble around them, which is fully customizable.
>Provides a shield effect when blocking, and effect for when block is broken.

- Captain's Shield -
This mod imitates the Renegade Captain's toughness shield 'bubble' for your character!
Visible in both first-person and third-person, the bubble's strength reflects your character's current toughness and flickers on hit!
Features:
> Full RGB color customization
> Color change when toughness is boosted (I.e. "Golden" toughness).
> Option to scale based on current toughness as well as max toughness.
> Toggleable on-hit visual and sound effects on toughness damage.
> Toggleable explosion FX when toughness is fully broken.
> Special 'overcharge' effects when toughness is actively being boosted.
> Can be toggled on and off, with a customizable cooldown.
- Captain's Block -
In addition, a special 'shield' blocking FX appears when blocking with your melee weapon!
> Visual and sound effect whenever an attack is blocked with your melee.
> Special effects when stamina is fully depleted and block is broken.
> Can be toggled on and off, with a customizable cooldown.
Installation:
1. Download the file, it will be zipped. First, extract it.
2. Inside, there is the CaptainShield folder.
3. Go to steam, on your game list on the left, right click Darktide -> Manage -> Browse local files.
4. Go to mods (If there is no mods folder, go to Darktide Modding Framework and follow instructions to install the foundation for mods) and drop CaptainShield into the mods folder.
5. In the mods folder, open mod_load_order.txt and add in the line "CaptainShield" down below.
6. Make sure toggle_darktide_mods is enabled in the Darktide install folder, too!
7. Enjoy!

Knowing what's possible with modding can be difficult, but as a general rule of thumb:
No mods that affect other players (I.e. spamming voicelines)
Nothing that replaces in-game models, changes weapon animations, or directly
modifies assets (At least until the modding community figures this one
out)
Mods that give a gameplay advantages are not allowed (I.e. cheats)
Everything else is pretty much on the table, more or less. I'm willing to discuss
requests and see what I can do! Feel free to contact me and ask, it's no
