19JUL24 - Hi all! If you haven't noticed already, there are still bugs taking place surrounding Feris's recruitment and you may have issues getting her to follow you. My apologies, I plan on releasing an update that I hope will resolve it within the next few days. As well, it has been brought to my attention that the .esp header now uses version 1.71, so I will be trying to fix this as well. There are a lot of learning moments happening this week! Thank you for your patience.

About Feris
This is Feris, a fully custom-voiced follower who will not add to your follower count on account of being on her own custom follower framework. She is a work-in-progress. In terms of her development, as does life proceed so too does the busy-ness of it, thus I am unable to devote as much time to her as I would like (such a commonplace misfortune for us all when it comes to the hobbies we enjoy!). This being said, I continue to work on the next update at a pace.
The vision in creating Feris was to create a simple follower capable of blending into vanilla Skyrim without too much dissonance. Mostly to see if it was possible to learn how, and to try something new! Her original appearance was put together using Skyrim’s vanilla in-game character creator and designed specific to her story. The hope is that Feris will add to your Skyrim experience in a positive way, however little or large, and for however long she walks at your side.

To add this Rift-born rogue to your Skyrim adventures, seek her out in Whiterun’s Bannered Mare and chat her up to begin the journey.

Live out your Dragonborn destiny or whichever path you choose to follow, with this sometimes cheeky, curious, and constantly learning companion at your side to comment on life and circumstance.
- Progressing through the game’s Main questline and spending time with Feris will unlock portions of her past.
- The way you respond in conversation may determine both how she views you and how she develops as a character.
- She currently does not have much dialogue past the first Main quests and her faction dialogue is a work-in-progress.
- As with many followers on custom frameworks, please do not try to use follower tweaking mods to tweak her. She may break in all manners of ways.
- It seems NPC appearance replacers/retextures currently conflict with Feris.
- Currently, this mod is not currently ESL flagged.

Feris was born in Riften and grew up under the constant threat of cruel hands, learning as she aged that survival could only be hers if she fought for it. When life seemed to have taken a turn for the better and she left Riften for a new life, the path grew just as muddy as her past and once again she was vulnerable to the whim of life's bitter winds. She delights in the simple things, for she has never had much, and has been convinced through experience that fully trusting in others is dangerous. Why would someone grow close to her, if not to make use of her life for their own gain? Relying on others has only earned her hardship, so travelling with Feris will give you the opportunity to either sway her from this belief and offer hope that friendship and trust is worth it, or further convince her that her childhood beliefs are well-founded. It's difficult to let down your guard when you've learned that vulnerability seems to invite a sting. Having self-autonomy is extremely important to Feris, and she will wrestle and claw to maintain control over her own life as much as she can. Threatening this control will not, and never has, turn out well for anyone.
Apologies in advance for any glitches, issues or inconsistences you may experience. Please report or comment on any bugs/concerns you may have, and I will do what I can to troubleshoot with my albeit little (but growing) knowledge. This is my first mod and I'm learning new things every day. I appreciate your patience while I work things out amongst the chaos of daily life and find new and better ways to bring Feris to life.
