Changelogs
Version 3
added overrides which persist across zones and resets
Version 2
added controls for fog color, light intensity, light color, and vertex normal influence
Adds controls in the pause menu to edit the in-game ambience, e.g. fog, light. Requires Custom Options Framework mod.
The menu does not remember or retrieve the current in-game ambience state, so once you've modified the ambience there's no way to reset to the original settings except by reloading the level (e.g. resetting to last save). Also, every time you open the menu it will be reset the default which may not reflect the current in-game state.
Installation
To install, place the file in Pseudoregalia's Content/Paks folder, next to pseudoregalia-Windows.pak, e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pseudoregalia\pseudoregalia\Content\Paks
To uninstall, delete the files you added.
Explanation of Vertex Normal Influence
Easy explanation: 0 means no shadows. 1 means harsh shadows.
Detailed explanation:
There is a giant global directional light in the game. This light hits every surface. 'Directional' means the light rays all travel in the same direction. The angle at which these light rays hits each surface determines how much to illuminate the surface. For example, a surface that is facing straight into the light will be fully illuminated, and a surface that is facing directly away from the light will be fully in shadow. The degree to which the orientation of the surface affects its illumination is referred to as Vertex Normal Influence.
