About this mod

Originally, many characters that would end up as other races for the final release were originally voiced by Wes Johnson. This mod changes those NPCs into Imperials, so the lines can be heard.

We all know the line. "Oblivion is basically just Wes Johnson talking to himself for a hundred hours". Yeah, well. He actually talked to himself even more than we got to see in the vanilla game. Digging around in the folder for male Imperial voice lines, one can find the voice-overs for characters who are not Imperial. Most of them are Breton; There was one Argonian and one Dark Elf. This... mind-numbingly simple mod switches them all to Imperials, and thus they speak their cut lines. There are only two named Breton males with unique dialogue remaining in the game, because Wes didn't voice any of their lines.

So, this is gonna break the game, right? I shouldn't use it in a serious save?

It's not as broken as you might think!

There is a bit of unvoiced and mismatched dialog, as seen in the video above, so included in the main file are Ralph Cosham's voice lines for any lines that are unvoiced. Some characters will, thus, occasionally switch to another voice actor... but you know Oblivion NPCs and their oh-so-consistent tone of voice. Jauffre is the most problematic NPC, with second place going to Hannibal Traven, who doesn't even come close. Otherwise, it is fairly smooth. Vicente Valtieri, for example, only has one issue, and that was from a topic I only learned existed while testing this mod - the issue in question is a mismatched fourth line in his "Bonus" topic. Get ready for more of Wes Johnson's evil-voice. With all the adherence to it you'd expect from an Oblivion NPC.

If I missed a character, let me know. The good words of Wes Johnson must be delivered to everyone's ears.

Don't think it. Don't say it.
