About this mod

Disables any attacking outside of VATS along with a few other tweaks to simulate TTRPG turn-based combat. Mainly meant for challenge runs or players looking to try something new.

Description:
What spawned as a joke mod, but actually turned out to be pretty fun to play - classic combat. Any and all attacks are disabled outside of VATS, AP is set to regenerate completely in six seconds by default (traditional TTRPG round timer), VATS spread penalty is removed, and VATS crit bonus is removed. That's it; no changes to weapon damages, perks, chems, etc. These things may need tweaks to be fully balanced (which I am down to do), but I haven't extensively tested. Steady will likely become the most OP chem in the game and Action Boy/Girl will probably be one of the best perks. That's why this is pretty much only meant for challenge runs or people looking to try something fun for a change.

Technical Info:
The bulk of this mod works by using the DisableControl function to disable the "attack" key. This has the adverse effect of also disabling any function that uses the same key (left-click for most people). Therefore, the script tries to account for whenever the player doesn't have their weapon out or is in a menu so they can click without issue. However, there may be some faulty logic so let me know if you are ever in a situation where you can't click anything when you should be able to. Weapons that cannot be used in VATS such as mines/detonators are accounted for, but I may have missed one so let me know. MODDED WEAPONS OF THIS TYPE WILL NEED A PATCH!! Simply add the weapon to the ClassicCombatDisabled formlist. Also, this may break quests if they require you to "attack" an object that cannot be VATS to proceed. The only case I can think of in the vanilla game is the Codac R9000 for the Classic Inspiration quest, which has been accounted for in this mod. Again, let me know if there are any situations that need to be fixed as well.
