Changelogs
Brief
This mod takes inspiration from Fallout 4 where you are required to power your power armor. It is recommended to play in a hardcore mod where every pound counts. Do you take your power armor and enough fusion cores for a couple of days but have limited space for treasure? Or do you leave the power armor and pack light instead? When you run out of fusion cores, like driving a car with no power steering fluid, it's going to suck. Your agility is reduced weapon-spread increased and you will struggle to even walk. You can recharge your fusion cores, assuming you have the knowledge required, at a workbench. You can also craft a brand new fusion core with detailed knowledge of how micro fusion works. Fusion cores are injected into leveled lists (Let me know what level lists you would like to see these in). Currently, you will rarely find them wherever you would normally find Micro Fusion cells. Fusion cores will appear on NPCs that are wearing power armor as well, even ones from mods.

UI Update

I spent more time than I would like to admit getting this to work. I added a custom FO4 like gauge and Fusion Core Counter to the HUD, as well as a basic text option and a basic bar option. They are all pretty simple, I'm not really that great at making textures so I created a way for other people to add their own textures without having to deal with any code. There is a built-in UI editor, each config has its own settings and can always be set back to defaults. You can also now choose not to have any UI components. Let me know if you find any bugs as this update added a lot of moving parts.

Known Issues
Currently, Fusion Cores will not show up in JAM's Loot Menu. This is because Fusion Cores are not assigned a Biped slot and the loot menu filters items that do not have a equip slot. There is nothing I can do to fix this other than post a patch for BBPA that assigns Fusion Cores with a Biped slot. This has the possibility to conflict with other mods that use the "body addon 3". If you find a mod that conflicts report it and ill post another patch.
Fixed in the last JAM update.
Install
Just install with your preferred Mod Manager or extract into the data folder.

Uninstall
Make sure that you are out of power armor before uninstalling.

Note to Mod Authors
If you are making a mod and would like to get the status of the fusion core you can look at the Auxillary Variables "*_fFusionCoreCharge" & "*_PAoutOfPower".
It is also possible to add custom UI components. Just copy the INIs in 'Configs\BPPA\UI\' and edit however you want. I recommend leaving the defaults and just adding your custom ones. The MCM menu is dynamic. The variables therein should be self-explanatory, if you have any questions, or would like me to add a feature to the INI, message me on the forums or on discord.
Compatibility
  • Completely compatible with modded power armor.
  • FO4 PA Features (built-in thanks Miguick)
  • Everything else will probably not conflict.
