How to install regulation.bin mods in Elden Ring

  • Download modengine2 (linked here)
  • Open the zip file and drag and drop the folder inside the zip file (ModEngine-2...) anywhere you want on your PC, OR right-click the zip file and click "extract to ModEngine-2..."
  • Open up the newly created Modengine-2... folder. Look for a folder called mods.
  • Drag and drop the file called "regulation.bin" into the mod folder
  • Double click "launchmod_eldenring.bat"
Note: You can click and then right-click "launchmod_eldenring.bat" and then go to "Send to" and click "Desktop (create shortcut)" to make launching modded Elden Ring easier.

How to merge CSV files into Elden Ring (Post DLC)
  • Download Smithbox by Vawser (linked here) or download DSMapStudio by Philiquaz (linked here). Smithbox is updated to the latest version of Elden Ring as of July 8th, 2024
  • Click Create Project. Name the project whatever you want. Set the Project Directory to the mod folder in your ModEngine2 folder.
  • Set your Game Executable to eldenring.exe in your Steam folder. On my PC, it is located here:
    This PC > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files (x86) > Steam > steamapps > common > ELDEN RING > Game
    or for a copyable address
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\ELDEN RING\Game
  • On the top of the screen there will be multiple tabs labeled "Editor". Click on "Param Editor"
  • On the far left side of the screen, click in the search bar. You will be looking up the name of the param file the mod developer has edited (to merge my Healing Flask mod, that would be SpEffect Param)
  • This may differ slightly if you're using DSMapStudio, but the general concept is the same. Click on "Data" towards the top of the window, then click on "Import CSV", then "From file...", then "All fields". This will open up your File Explorer. Select the CSV file you downloaded (this should have the same name as the Param you're trying to merge).
  • Once that's done, click "File", and then "Save All Modified Params"
  • You can now run the merged mods by going back to your "ModEngine-2..." folder and clicking "launchmod_eldenring.bat"

I'd love to know what to do in the event that two mods modify the same csvs. Do you really just plug the lines in where they can go?

Hey so I'm rather new to modding Elden Ring specifically, and I think what I want might be a big task to begin with, but if anyone has some pointers here's my goal:

    https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/5293

I literally just wanna make The Convergence a little easier. (I've got arthritis in my hands so a few less button-presses means a few more minutes I can play pls dont judge) Butut for the life of me I cant figure this out. Ive been fiddling with Smithbox for two days and I'll Ive really managed to do is accidentally remove the ground lol. Ive found an amber medallion mod that is close enough to what I want, but as far as what to do with it from here I'm at a loss.

Namely, Convergence installs with ModEngine2 already within it and Im not sure how that changes the steps listed here, and my guesses have thus far been incorrect judging from some hilarious game breaking incidents over the last two days. Or perhaps I'm bungling up one of the steps without realizing it, Im pretty versed in Skyrim and Witcher projects but Elden Ring is quite a bit more complex. Any help is appreciated!

Hi! Convergence has not been updated to Elden Ring version 1.12.4. This may be the cause of the issue.

I've got the game downpatched to v1.10 to run Convergence, should I try merging an older version of the medallion mod, maybe? I believe the medallion mod is up to date. I hadnt considered that, so thank you. However it will have to wait either way, since Convergence has stopped working for a lot of us in the last couple days for seemingly no reason (suddenly CTD upon launch). I've also started messing around with a cheat engine table for reforged, so I may be able to achieve what I want using that whenever Convergence feels like opening again lol. (Convergence felt like opening again, time to break it!) Thanks again for the reply!
