Alternate Eye Shaders
For frosty mod manager. New shaders for the eyes. Compatible with eye retextures. Separate files so you can pick and choose who is affected.

Differences include:
- larger pupils and irises
- changes to the way the eyes shine
- decreased veinage
- on the black sclera versions, the eye whites are black instead of white (but that's totally optional, there are
  regular white sclera options too.)

The appearance of the overall sparkle and sheen of the eye will vary depending on what lighting the character is under and of course what eye texture mod you use it with, if any.

PLEASE NOTE that for compatibility reasons, this mod also includes my skintone fix for Dagna's arms, and my
Dwarven Surfacer and Carta Hand Skintone Fixes from my further skintone fixes mod, so you don't need to use the aforementioned files at the same time as this eye mod.

Dagna's welding helmet, and the rest of my skintone fixes are not included within this eye mod though, so you are welcome to use those other files with this eye mod, if you want to.

FAQ
Q1: Can I use this with eye retexture mods?
A1: Yes! This mod isn't a texture edit, so it's compatible with eye retextures.

Q2: Can I use this with mods that change a characters eye colours or lash colours?
A2: Depends entirely on what files you're using.

Eye and lash colour mods for the inquisitor, or Hawke? Sure, go ahead!

Lash or eye colour mods for either of these characters:
Companions (Dorian, Sera, Iron Bull, Solas, Cassandra, Varric, Vivienne, Cole, Blackwall.)
Advisors (Cullen, Leliana, Josephine.)
Adversaries (Samson, Calpernia, unnamed male red templars, Venatori spellbinders.)
Your family of the wilds (Flemeth, Kieran, Morrigan.)
Old friends (Alistair, Isabela.)

will be an issue if you're using the "all in one" file, as that will clash with eye and lash colour changes for those characters. If you use the separated files, though, it shouldn't clash unless you have the eye shader swap installed for the character you also want a lash or eye colour mod for, so e.g you couldn't have the Leliana eye shader swap installed at the same time as a Leliana eye colour or lash colour mod.

Can you use lash and eye colour mods for characters that I have not named in the list above? Yep, sure!

Q3: What are the generic shader swap files for in the separate shader swaps file?
A3: The generic shader swap files affect all non-unique characters of the same race and gender as the file name.

Non-unique characters include the inquisitor, Hawke, really any non-creature person that does not already have a dedicated file for themselves on this page should be covered by the generic shader swap files, if the race and gender are compatible.

so e.g downloading the dwarf male shader swap would affect a dwarf male inquisitor, and any other dwarf male characters except Varric, who has his own separate file for himself.

Q4: Can you make a dai mod manager version of this mod?
A4:
No. This edits too many files for it to be ported to da:i mod manager, since the mod maker for that tool is prone to crashing when left open for a long time.

Q5: Why does this mod edit so many files compared to other eye mods?
A5: This eye mod is not made in the same way as other eye mods. It's a shader swap, and shaders need labels on all the appearances of the asset (in this case the eyes) in every single scene on every single character you make the swap for.

So as you can imagine, that's a lot of labels, and thus a lot of edits.

Q6: Help! The eyes have gone invisible, or are all one solid colour!
A6: You either have a mod that edits the same files as this one and is thus conflicting, or you forgot to download the base mod (which is required for the shader swaps to work.)

If you already have the base mod, then you have a conflict instead, so click the "actions" tab in frosty mod manager, tick "show only replacements", this will show you if you have any conflicting mods.

If you see any mods conflicting with this one, or even if you see none (frosty doesn't register all conflicts nowadays), you have 3 possible options:

1)
disable the mod conflicting with this one, if you know which mod it is.

2) give this mod priority over the other - to do so, click on my mod in your applied mods list in frosty, and use the arrow buttons in the frosty interface to place this mod at the bottom of the list.

NOTE though that the way conflicts work is that giving one mod priority over the other conflicting one(s) means that some of the edits from the unprioritized conflicting mod(s) will be ignored. Whether that's important or not depends on what the other mods did to those now ignored edits.

3) if applicable, use one of the compatibility patches from the optional files section. this is only relevant if the mod conflicting with the eye mod has it's own designated compatibility patch in the optional files section. load the compatibility patch BELOW my original eye mod, and below whatever mod was conflicting with it, using the arrow buttons in the frosty interface.

the compatibility patch WILL register as a conflict with the base mod and possibly whatever mod was conflicting with the original eye mod, but, that does not matter as long as it is BELOW them.

Q7: This mod crashes my mod manager when I try to import it to frosty.
A7: Make sure you are using frosty 1.0.6 or above! Otherwise it won't accept it.

Q8: What files do I need to download from this page for the eyes to change?
A8:
You need both the base mod and the shader swap file(s) of your choice, the base mod alone does not visibly change anything unless you pair it with one of the shader swap files. And the shader swap files do not function without the base mod.

Q9: The separate shader swaps file has lots of shader swaps inside it, can I use multiple of them from it at once?
A9: Yes. As long as you don't install multiple for the same character at once.

Q10: Can you remake this mod for frosty mod manager version 1.0.5.9?
A10: No, this mod has too many edits to be remade for frosty 1.0.5.9. I did try to make it for 1.0.5.9 originally, but then I accidentally saved over the mod in frosty 1.0.6, so I can't revert it now.

Q11: Can I install multiple of the compatibility patch files from the optional files section at once?
A11: You can use one hair compatibility file from this particular page at once, but, the one hair compatibility file you choose can also be installed alongside the Josephine wears her regular dress as formalwear compatibility patch too, if you are also using that mod.

P.s hair compatibility files from my other mod pages e.g modded hair in dlcs are fine to load alongside this mod, even if you are using a hair compatibility file from this page too.
