About this mod

Want a colder, grittier and sharper film-look that carefully preserves proper brightness levels? You like how the game looks in my YouTube videos? Then this is for you.

This is a preset for ReShade. It gives a colder, grittier and sharper film-look to the game. It carefully preserves proper brightness levels, so details in shadows are not lost. You get a more detailed picture with more clarity, but without pixelly edges.

I got a few comments on my YouTube videos asking how my game looks so good. This ReShade is a big part of it. Here's an example:

It comes in 2 flavors, both are included in the download:
COLD GRIT does as described above. This is how I play and how I record my YouTube videos.
CLARITY preserves the original game's warm colors, not making them colder. For when you prefer the game's original look, just 'better'.

Installation:
  • Download this preset
  • Download ReShade
  • Open the ReShade installer, find Door Kickers 2 and choose OpenGL
  • WHEN ASKED TO SELECT EFFECTS TO INSTALL:
    - CLICK "Uncheck all"
    - DO NOT CHOOSE A PRESET
-> Because this preset comes with a custom LUT (a color grading profile) and has all required effects included.
  • Copy the preset and 'reshade-shaders' folder that come with it to your the folder where DoorKickers2.exe is located. OVERWRITE EVERYTHING.
    The folder is usually here:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\DoorKickers2
    or
    D:\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\DoorKickers2
  • When done, run the game and press the "home" button and select "Rake5000 Cold Grit" from the dropdown menu
  • You can change the hotkeys under "Settings". I Like:
    - Scroll Lock instead of home to open the menu.
    - Page Up to toggle effects (base game / ReShade)
    - Page Dn to switch between presets (Cold Grit / Clarity)

If you need help, ask in the comments.

Enjoy!
