Reworks the Pistol so that the primary fire is now a 3-shot burst, and the secondary fire is a high damage semi-auto mode, inspired by Rage 2's Sidewinder Pistol and Eternal's cut pistol. The primary fire now does 50 damage per shot, for 150 damage per burst, and the secondary fire does 200 damage per shot. The firing sounds have also been changed to that of the Mark V Pistol (multiplayer pistol), and the movement penalty when using the secondary fire has also been removed.

Please note that a bug may occur when simultaneously firing the Pistol and throwing a grenade, where the player will be unable to melee, switch weapons, or fire. This can be fixed by mantling or restarting from a checkpoint.

The basic Pistol (no upgrades) has been "balanced" around the following scenarios:
  • A single burst is enough to kill zombies
  • Two bursts are needed to kill Imps
  • Three bursts are needed to kill basic Possessed soldiers
  • One secondary shot is enough to stagger an Imp
  • Two secondary shots are needed to kill Imps and basic Possessed soldiers

With the Mastery upgrade, a single burst is enough to kill an Imp

The following upgrades have also been reworked:

Charge Efficiency
  • Old: Decreases the time time it takes to power up a Charged Energy Shot
  • New: Reduces the delay between bursts by 60%

Quick Recovery
  • Old: Decreases the recovery time for the pistol after using a Charged Energy Shot
  • New: Increases the secondary fire's rate of fire

Light Weight
  • Old: Move at full speed when using the Charged Energy Shot
  • New: Secondary fire shots penetrate through targets and do 50% more headshot damage

Increased Power
  • Old: Increases the power of the Charged Energy Shot, resulting in higher damage potential
  • New: Increases the burst count from 3 to 5 shots

The in-game descriptions have not been changed!

Additional Thoughts
I was able to get through The Necropolis using only the Pistol and equipment, with the exception of the boss fight, where I also used the BFG. This was done on Ultra-Violence, and with not much difficulty, so to be honest, the reworked Pistol isn't particularly balanced, though I would say that the infinite ammo plays a big part. That said, I made this mod with the intent of making the Pistol effective and fun to use, so in that sense, I am personally satisfied with the end result, and it being kinda OP doesn't bother me. Your mileage may vary.
