About this mod

A general rebalancing package affecting a lot of skills and talents, as well as a few items to fit my idea of a better game experience for Divinity Original Sin 2.

In the beginning this mod aimed at buffing several less popular skills of the vanilla game in order to make them more attractive, but it kinda migrated to some kind of soft overhaul aiming at rebalancing the skill system by giving more value to healing & tanking as well as hybrid teams, more tools to alternative playstyles, while still buffing some underpowered individual skills (and items).

YOU CAN FIND THE FULL LIST OF THE CORE MOD CHANGES HERE
(it is a bit long, and easier to display on a spreadsheet)

I also included the following optional mod in this page, because I figured it was too small a change to warrant its own page :

Throwing daggers rework
A dumb little mod I did because I found it a bit weird that throwing daggers skills scaled on your current weapon and required to have daggers equipped, as if you were throwing your current dagger, or duplicating your current dagger and throwing copies of it with Fan of Knives. I also found it strange that Searing Daggers were a purely elemental skill, given its flavor.

The mod's changes:
- I removed the scaling and prerequisites of Throwing Knife and Fan of Knives, and made the damage indexed on the character level instead, still scaling on Finesse, and I increased the damage multiplier a bit to compensate for the fact it can't backstab anymore (because non-dagger skills can't backstab :() and for the loss of weapon advantages.
- I made Searing Daggers into a skill dealing physical damage scaling on Finesse, with the previous damage (still scaling on Intelligence) occurring on an explosion that happens if the daggers hit a target.

In terms of balance the dagger throwing skills should be an interesting option for Finesse characters that don't use very powerful weapons for some reason. From the top of the head I can think of the Dagger+Shield Scoundrel who can benefit from it, but it also makes the skill available Spear and Bow users, so maybe they'll find some uses. Searing Daggers should be an interesting option for both fire mages and finesse physical characters. I realise it's quite a power up for that skill essentially on lower levels, but it was always quite underwhelming in terms of damage, and the physical / magic split makes it far less impactful than a straight damage increase, so it should be fine.

It can be used independently from the base mod. If you are using both at the same time, I recommend loading the Throwing daggers rework mod after the base one, so that the Searing Daggers change doesn't get overridden.

The mod is localized in English and French
Any other languages may have weird text issues. If you want to give a hand localizing it in another language, you're welcome to it, I can send you a text file to translate.
IF THE MOD DISPLAYS ANY TEXT YOU FIND WEIRD FOR A LANGUAGE IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE LOCALIZED FOR PLEASE REPORT IT
The game's localization sometimes behaves in mysterious ways, and the engine sometimes regenerates localization files and overrides my manual localization. I try to remain vigilant about it, but sometimes a faulty file still slips past my attention, and reports can be useful in detecting those.
I hope you like this mod c: Don't hesitate commenting if you have any feedback to give !

Known issues:
- In certain conditions the game seems to remove the statuses applied by modified talents - I've noticed that happening on the end of the first arena fight in Driftwood so far. I don't know where the issue comes from, so I can't really fix it for now, but you can get the advantages of the talents back by going to the magic mirror to remove the talents and get them again. Alternately, resurrecting a character forces them to refresh those.
