About this mod

Adds a configurable lock-on/Z-targeting function to DFU, as well as other assists for play with gamepads or touch controls. Android-compatible version also available.

Main features:
  • Auto-Sight - Keep a target centered in your view without having to touch your mouse/stick/touchpad.
  • Auto-Pitch - Your view will automatically pitch up or down when travelling on slopes and stairs
  • Quick-Turn - Combination input lets you perform a quick 90-degree or 180-degree turn

Auto-Sight Options:
  • Two activation methods:
  • On Dedicated Input (Default) - Assign a key (Default is TAB) that lets you toggle Auto-sight on and off.
  • On Swing Weapon - Auto-sight will activate whenever you press down on the "Swing Weapon" input and deactivate when it is released. Recommended for use with the vanilla "drag to attack" weapon controls.
  • When using Dedicated Input:
  • You can break lock or switch targets by just moving your view and settling on a different target. The value thresholds for this function are also adjustable.
  • Optional toggle to allow you to offset your aimpoint on a target without breaking lock.
  • Camera speed and dampening are adjustable
  • Targeting range, radius and update frequency are also adjustable
  • The Auto-Sight indicator can be set to Widget (Default) or Crosshair or completely disabled.
  • Widget screen position is adjustable
  • All settings are accessible from the in-game Mod Settings menu so you can change them anytime and see their effects immediately
Auto-Pitch Options:
  • Can be temporarily disabled by manually pitching the camera
  • Will reenable after a short delay once there is no longer any pitching input
  • Pitching speed and Input threshold to deactivate auto-pitch as well as duration before it reactivates is adjustable
  • Will not run when auto-sighting
Quick-Turn Option:
  • Hold the assigned input and move either sideways or backwards to perform a Quick-turn
  • Sideways movement results in a 90-degree turn in the chosen direction
  • Backwards movement results in a 180-degree turn
  • Doing so while locked-on will automatically break the lock
  • Assigned input and turn duration are configurable

I wanted to use the vanilla weapon controls more and was being frustrated at how it locked out your camera controls when you wanted to attack. I tried several methods like binding turning to keyboard or assigning attack directions to separate inputs but putting them in a mod was impossible. In the end, I settled for a rough lock-on system.
Incidentally, it also turned out to work very well when playing with gamepad or on phone with a bit of extra work. So enjoy!

Compatibility:
  • Vanilla Enhanced - Villains & Monsters replaces the component where the EnemyID for vanilla mobs gets updated so this mod won't be able to identify them. Their aimpoint will always be at the default which is too high for certain mobs. Recommend using the Manual Offset when using Auto-Sight alongside VE.

Notes for Android version:
  • Made for use specifically with Vwing's DFU port. I can't guarantee it will work with different forks or projects. Refer to the github for instructions on installing mods.
  • DFU Android 1.1.1.3 introduced KeyCode mapping that allows mod functions to be bound directly to key presses. This is now required for Auto-Sight 1.2.
  • To assign keys to inputs, enter the KeyCode in the field in the Mod Settings. List of KeyCodes can be found here. For example, to bind the action to Enter on the keypad, you must type in "KeypadEnter" without quotes.
Known issues on Android:
  • Indicator icon textures may not load on some devices (occurred when tested on an Oppo A15) unless in Retro-Mode.

My access to different devices is extremely limited so I appreciate receiving any sort of info about the device along with the feedback.
