The Pact of the Shroud

"Some warlocks clutch dusty volumes of unspeakable secrets to their chests. Some have an uncanny proficiency with weaponry that would take others years of practice to master. Some still have servants bound to their will: creatures to obey their every command.

What gift then, did your patron bestow upon you?

For you, they promised that no Tome can blemish your soul. That no Blade can touch your skin. That no Chain can hope to hold you.

Not so long as you bear their Shroud."

What does this mod add?
This mod adds a new, homebrew pact boon called the Pact of the Shroud, as well as three invocations meant to compliment this boon. Such warlocks eschew armour or shields, protecting themselves by shrouding themselves within the power of their pact.

Pact of the Shroud:
Eldritch Shroud:
The primary ability of the Pact of the Shroud is a reaction called Eldritch Shroud. When you are attacked, you may spend a reaction to raise your base AC to 10 + your Charisma modifier + your Proficiency Bonus until the start of your next turn. Any improvements to your armour class from dexterity, equipment, spells*, or class features* are added on top of this change.

You can use your Eldritch Shroud feature a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus. When you short rest, all uses of this ability are refreshed, just like your Warlock spell slots.

(*Important Note: Effects that alter your base armour class, like Unarmoured Defence, Mage Armour, or Barkskin do not stack with Eldritch Shroud. In such a case, the source that offers the highest base AC is used. They will still function normally when your Eldritch Shroud feature is not active.)

Deepened Pact: Improved Eldritch Shroud
When you reach 5th level as a Warlock, your Eldritch Shroud is improved. Instead of a reaction, it becomes continously active, both in and out of combat; until you are hit by an attack. Once you are hit, your shroud is exhausted and becomes a reaction again until you take a short rest.

Additional Eldritch Invocations:
This mod also adds three new Eldritch Invocations; two of which use charges of Eldritch Shroud to work. Due to engine restrictions, you can still choose these invocations even if you do not have the Pact of the Shroud. In such a case, you receive a use of Eldritch Shroud that can only be used to fuel these invocations. Warlocks with Pact of the Shroud won't receive any additional uses of Eldritch Shroud.

• Shroud of Safe Passage:
As long as you are neither wearing armour nor carrying a shield, you can disengage or hide as a bonus action.

• Veil of Shadows:
7th Level Invocation: When you use your Eldritch Shroud reaction, you billow obfuscating shadows until the start of your next turn. Attacks against you are made at disadvantage, unless your attacker can see through magical darkness. In addition, you can spend a bonus action to teleport between shadows at the cost of a use of your Eldritch Shroud feature, as long as you are not wearing armour. When you arrive, you are invisible until the start of your next turn.

• Shroud the Soul:
12th Level Invocation: As long as you are neither wearing armour nor carrying a shield, when you would fail a saving throw, you may expend a use of your Eldritch Shroud feature as a Reaction to succeed instead. You may use this ability only once each combat.

Requirements:
This mod requires the Compatibility Framework and Community Library; which themselves require Norbyte's Script Extender.
Optional:
If you want to see a custom resource icon for the Eldritch Shroud charges, you will need Improved UI and its Asset Mod.

Compatibility:
This mod should be compatible with most other mods: even those that add other Pact Boons or Eldritch Invocations. I have tested it with Invocations Expanded, and RandoRuda, creator of Warlock Pacts as Boons, has implemented compatibility for Pact of the Shroud themselves.
