In older versions of DnD and other Baldur's Gate or similar games, there were swords called Bastard Swords, which had slightly more one-handed damage and could be wielded with two hands for damage similar to a Greatsword. This mod implements this in a more modern way.

This mod will have multiple versions to cater to different wants. This will add Bastard Swords, similar to those seen in the original Baldur's Gate games and older versions of DnD, where Longswords and Bastard Swords were different. Eventually, there will be four different versions of this mod but you will only need one mod file. See below for what will be implemented:
Replaces the damage and other properties on all longswords to become BastardSwords (can also do this for Greatswords as well)
Creates a Bastard Sword equivalent to all Longswords (might just make each longsword upgradeable to a Bastard Sword)
Creates a Bastard Sword equivalent to all Longswords and Greatswords (can do this for shortswords and daggers as well if desired)
Creates unique Bastard Swords with their own designs
Installation
Installing this mod is very easy, but I have only tested this with BGMM. Start BGMM and do the following:
Download the main file of choice
In BGMM Click File > Import Mod
Select the mod from your downloads folder
Drag the mod over from Inactive Mods to Active Mods
Compatibility
This should be compatible with most mods. The load order shouldn't matter, but if there is another mod that changes or adds weapons that you want to have the Bastard Sword stats, you will probably need to load those after this mod. That is assuming they use the base Longsword stats and only apply to the main file that overwrites the base Longsword stats.
Other Info
There are currently two main files for this mod: one that replaces just the longsword damage values and updates them to the bastard sword values and weapon properties. The second version, which is now released and uploaded, makes it possible for all longswords to be converted to bastard swords by combining them with a bronze ingot using the forge from my Upgrade Weapons and Armor mod. You can also convert a bastard sword back to a longsword by the same method. I am open to ideas for this mod and am currently trying to upscale my modding abilities, so I will also take mod requests.
