This mod bring back special kill animations of older version of Total War: Rome II.
This mod bring back almost all of kill animations and still keep dueling animations of both patch 20 and older version of Total War: Rome II vanilla. Unike the demo video, sword - shield units and spear - shield units never have sword units and spear units animations. Sometimes, it still occurs some minor animation bugs and I'm totally sorry for this.
There are 2 main files after extracting .rar file, one is for vanilla game and other mods like Radious Mod,... and another one for Divide et Impera & Para Bellum.
Finally, A Big Thank to Petro, Kyle on Steam, the first one who developed Return to Glory and cinematic_kill_(Animation_Mod) animation overhaul mods, which are origins of this current mod, even though these animation mods was outdated.
For Divide et Impera users:
How to removed glitch combat animations of standard-bearers:
- Open _divide_et_impera_part1 with Pack File Manager.
- Go to "animations" -> "animation_tables" -> "_DeI_animation_tables.txt".
- Scroll to "animation_table rome_man_standard_bearer".
- Delete "fragment rome_man_standardbearer_matched_combat_fragment".
How to removed glitch "spear-sword" combat animations of hoplite phalanx units:
- Open _divide_et_impera_part1 with Pack File Manager.
- Go to "animations" -> "animation_tables" -> "_DeI_animation_tables.txt".
- Scroll to "animation_table rome_man_hoplite_spear_sword_hybrid" and "animation_table rome_man_spear_sword_shield".
- Delete " fragment rome_man_spear_shield_matched_combat_fragment" of three tables.
Thanks for reading and preparation for download, I hope you enjoy this mod!
Here is a demo video:
Update 1: Add more charge animation scripts.
Update 2: New charge animations brought buggy animations, so they are removed.
Update 3: Re-add new charge animations because they work very well with vanilla games some overhaul mods like Radious Mod,... but they're little buggy with Divide et Impera, Para Bellum, so you can optionally delete "@_Charging(Charging).txt", "@_Charging(Normale).txt", "@_Charging(Standing).txt" in "matched combat" section of this animation mod with Pack File Manager (outdated advice).
Update 4: Upload 2 main files, one for vanilla game, Radious mod,... and another one is for Divide et Impera, Para Bellum.
Update 5: Added more animation scripts.
Update 6: Edited extra animation scripts.
this works with latest patch? :)
Of course, it works for current version of this game, Total War Rome II patch 20 Ancestral update.
yo tengo el rome 2 pir , donde debo instalar el mod?
Sorry for late reply, can you write any English?
Hi thank you for the update
Not seeing decapitations now after that update
Thanks for your report.
There are 2 beheading animations in this update, I've recently updated version 5.2. Please try again.
Hi thank you for the reply and update. Decapitations are happening. Your mod is the only one that works, thank you
hello. there is an error, says unrecognized equipment usage : boxer
Sorry for late reply, maybe you use older version of TW: Rome, if you use newer version with Ancestral update, this may solve the problem.
well I use 2.20 emperor edition (patch 15-17 ) I play also HELLENIKA.. from above 18patch the mods are almost all uncombatible and awful as quality. So since I first found around here and there the 2.20 Emperor Edition I think no match other even DEI with greater graphics
PS: It does not work on my vr and talk about attila animations..while I have ROME 2 Emperor Edition.. give the same error as the other mod "return of glory" of petro again. Only "new more bloody kills " of petro works great in 2.20 vr. So please do you have any in that vr ?
I choose very carefully the fight animation mods to fit and not destroy either the animations as quality or as a sum in the eye about kills deaths charge combat duels ... So I think Petro has the most of all without harming the sectors above.. then comes and works with everything warcry x1 and x2. So please to not fullload the game with more same things can you please tell me what's the difference and new about your mod here and warcry or petro's?
Sorry for late reply, differences between my mod and Petro's mod:
I combined both old special cinematic animations and new cinematic animation.
I released versions for both vanilla/Radious or DEI-PB mod.
My mod are just about combat animations not changing morale when charging or attacking flanks or rear.
Thanks for reading, hope you enjoy the game and mods!
Hello , don't worry me too sometimes I enter here )
Well thanks for your info about your mod.
I like the fact you just enhanced the battle animations kills fight death charge and not touched other things of battle general which many mods do.
But sorry again, But what about vanilla lower than DEI vr? Is there any chance to place a lower than patch 18 ( DEI ) vr compatible ?
sorry to re write this I din not notice I hadn't login yet
I created this mod/submod for new or latest version of vanilla/mod, I'm not sure that it works for older versions.
Playing at last version. Played 10+ matches with many fractions (spartans too) and there is no any new animations wth
I think you should try my latest version 5.2 to re-experiment this mod.
Does this work with latest version?
Of course, it works for current version of this game, Total War Rome II patch 20 Ancestral update.
This mod can work in the new patch but i have a thing. when it comes to the combat the animations take long to show up and usually most of them are just the normal animations from the game. like 1 match combat takes to like 15 to 20 minutes to end. is that normal?
Sorry for late reply, the combat animations are performed long, because the footwork spam animations, I recommend you to go to Steam, there are som animation mod which can satisfy you.
so how do i install this?
How to install:
- Download this mod, then extract .rar file and put the main file(s) to .../Total War Rome II/ data
If you use Steam/Launcher, your can activate the mod through Mod Manager of Total War Launcher.
If you don't use Steam, you must download Mod Manager through this link:
Sourceforge.net
Then, Start the Mod Manager, click Tool -> Set Game Directory -> click the "Total War Rome II" folder (restart the Mod Manager if you still don't see the mod list) -> activate your mod(s).
Finally, click Launch and enjoy playing!
Hey bro could you make it compatible with "Bloody Battles final Edition"? So in the mod can your your animations? Or could you tell me how i can integrate your animations in this mod? I know a bit about pfm and something i just did never something with animations
It is just a compilation of animation scriptures of old animation mods. In reality, I just "Copy and Paste" from mod developers, and i don't edit any morale impact or charge effect.
