However, we are happy to announce the launch of a devblog for our new game, BEACON, a sci-fi action roguelike coming to PC. We know this might not be your cup of tea as it is very different from Black Snow, but give us a chance to impress you. i keep getting the error "can't find background image materials/console/blacksnow_menu1.vtf", i've been wanting to play the game for years, along with other sourcemods, i originally saw the mod in 2013, and i've been wanting to play it, and just now i've rediscovered it, downloaded it, but can't get it to work, i'd love some help. mainly the working "blacksnow_menu1.vtf", if you could email it to me, i'd love that.
Sorry, but I'm not going to waste my time on a mod so obtuse that I have to consult a walkthrough 15 minutes in. I found the grappling hook that gets me into a large building, but when I go down the dark corridor [no flashlight of course], something kills me every time. And it looked pretty promising too. The cold kills you too quickly to spend any significant amount of time exploring outside.
The long load times every time I use an exterior door are a nuisance.
Perhaps the way forward from this point seemed obvious to the devs, but it is anything but.
Went ahead and watched a walkthrough anyway, and I'm happy to just walk away from this mess. Repeatedly goes straight to doors or other access points in totally dark areas where you could never find them without a dozen or more blind playthroughs.
A good puzzle has an "Aha! Of course!" moment when you see the solution; these only inspire me to think "Seriously? THAT'S the stupid answer? Give me a break!"
Would really like to know the development story on this mod. Why is the ending so god awful and abrupt? Was there actually more planned?
I know, right? When I first played it I assumed there must've been multiple endings and I got the bad ending somehow.

I can't wait to play this game. But I have a bad feeling I will hit one bad bug or the game will lag badly.

Even with patches and fixes it's still pretty broken in plenty of areas unfortunately. Textures are missing everywhere, the lighting is broken, entities don't work, animations can break. The developer also abandoned it to work on other projects. Which is fine, I guess... But people still like this mod and want to play it.
is there going to be a source sdk base 2013 sp patch soon? cause i'd like to play this mod again
