id Software's Rage combines first-person shooting, vehicular action, and "open but directed" exploration in a post-apocalyptic world, to tell the story of Earth's wretched civilization after a cataclysmic meteor strike. Militaristic authority figures, freedom-fighting rebels, criminal raiders, and twisted mutants battle each other for control of the barren wasteland Earth has become. This is the first game to feature the new id Tech 5 engine.
John Carmack went on to note that the game was originally going to feature several wastelands, but the limitations of the 360's DVDs required the developer to cut them down to two. These changes were made for all versions of the game... The game got lots of flack for its rather linear experience, eventhough it seemed open-ended from the talk of it being a "sandbox"... the final product seems quite far from what is a traditional sandbox. It got a DLC, Wasteland Sewer Missions but for the xbox 360 only. A new DLC entitled Scorcher was released on December 18th.

THE SHITTIEST LOOKING GAME OF 2011
Hardly. The game suffers some texture pop-in, and some of the textures are a little bland, but I often find myself just hopping out of the car, and looking at the sky. The environment is just stunning to me.
If you want to nominate a game as "Shittiest of 2011," look no further than Duke Nukem Forever. That game is just ugly on every single level.

game mostly looks like this, and its not a graphial error like some are having. this is highest settings running optimal (without AA in this screenshot). Media.moddb.com i m in the middle of the game and got about 100 screenshots of places looking same or worse.

I'm asking them right now. I don't see that it came with it either. It might be available in a few days. They are putting an update for the PC for the texture optimization and more I heard. Hopefully it comes with that.
I heard there was gunna be a highres texture pack too. I mean the game does look fantastic. but I know Id tech 5 can push itself even further.
Just ask GStaff the Sr Community Manager and he said they are working on the Level Editor. So it's coming out.
