I voted 8/10 for Battlefield 2, because it has a lot of action, it has a lot of new and interesting weapons, but it's not that realistic. Like: the commander stuff: you can't just zoom in and see everything or the UAV. But still it's awsome!

Battlefield 2 is definitely the best Battlefield game ever and by far the best squad-based team shooter ever as well. It was the perfectly refined Battlefield game with great innovations set in a contemporary world with highly relatable factions and incredible gameplay.
The AI is awesome, the gunplay super tight and the maps incredible. The vehicles were taken to another level and control wonderfully. Battlefield 2 is just incredible with such fun moments and such pure expertly executed game design, not too complex and not too simple with plenty of opportunity for deep team-based gameplay.
The Project Reality mod (and so many other awesome mods) keeps this masterpiece alive and well almost twenty years after its release as a testament to the power and passion of gamer communities. Give this a try and other squad-based shooters (including later Battlefield games) will seem quaint.
