I have made a new navmesh for the 64 player map Great Wall to allow play with AI bots. There is a PDF in the download with instructions for installation.
Note that there was never a 64 player version of this map officially released. However there is a GamePlayObjects.con in the original Great Wall level that is set up for 64 players.
It is located here:
...\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\Levels\GreatWall\server.zip\GameModes\sp1\64
This 64 player coop level is based on this GamePlayObjects.con
There have been some changes to the static objects and flags layout:
MariusMaximus, with help from TrueSpirit, has widened the three archways of the main fortress so vehicles can drive through better. He has also redone the static object xp2_greatwall_stones by cutting it in half. It is the short wall sections between the temples in the fortress.
MariusMaimus is also responsible for the 64 player map picture when selecting Great Wall – 64.
Without the work from MariusMaximus and TrueSpirit this coop 64 level would not have been
possible, so send them a thank you when you get the chance.
Some of the flags have a bigger capture radius to make it easier for vehicles to capture them. A few of the flags have been moved onto roofs to stop the vehicles getting stuck on them.
The vehicles were all originally place holder US vehicles and have been swapped over to the
European versions (xpak2).
The navmesh was created by taking the original 16 player version and transplanting it on the bigger
64 player version.
If you change the flag layout and start to experience random crashes try redoing your Strategic
Areas. Specifically make sure the ‘order positions’ for both infantry and vehicles are in places
where the navmesh exists and the soldiers and vehicles can reach them. Order positions that the AI
cannot reach will crash the level.
I have not tested that all the walls work with AI soldiers.
Also included are the 3D object files (*.obj) used making the Navmesh. If you know how and wish
to edit them further they are in the folder location:
greatwall\server.zip\GTSData\output
I used python 2.3.4 to create the Navmesh with BF2Editor.
I used Blender 3.3 to edit the Navmesh obj files.
hi, it looks like there will be a release of a mod with all these maps soon?
Yes. It will be next year sometime for the 20th Anniversary of Battlefield 2.
Any maps I have not done will be taken from the bf2all64 mod.
Finally!!
