Starting out as a small independent publisher publishing Atari 2600 games, Activision soon grew to publish on many different platforms. Founded by ex-Atari programmers and a former music industry executive, and have acquired many licenses and made partnerships with many companies.

Actually Activision didn't allow anything with the iD engine. All Activision has is a distribution deal with iD Software. They distribute the game and get it in stores for a slice of the sales, that is it, nothing more. It is all iD Software that decides what engine and when the engine source code gets released as Open Source.

Yes, people should be glad Activision keep making the same games over and over under different names (but the same pricetag), with few to no modding capabilities just to boost DLC sales which could've been perfectly included along with the game. Ungrateful jerks!

Fortunately, your average joe is usually some ignorant individual who would spend their income on anything that shines. If it weren't for these people, Activision would've gone bankrupt a while back!

Thanks, Activision for making "Call of duty 10", for every person with the mental age of 8 to enjoy!

Thanks, Activision, for being the total opposite of VALVe...
If Valve is god, you're the devil.
If Valve gives Presents to gamers, you take them away from Gamers!
If Valve is a good company, you're a bad one.
If they release frequent updates for Team Fortress 2 for free, you release some map packs for Modern Warfare 2, for money!!
Who will pay 15 bucks for some maps, are you insane, Billy Kotick??
Well, I hope you will never conquer earth with your evil plans, Mr.Kotick.
