It's a testament to the care that went into this movie, the hard work of the cast and crew, and the power of the story itself that I left the theater both moved and inspired. This is a movie that will likely stick with me for some time, and I'm glad; I think it's not one that should be forgotten.

Sing Sing is a very saccharine overdramatic film of admirable intentions and and it boasts great vulnerable performances from its mostly amateur cast but the end result really sanitizes the harsh realities of prison and incarceration. Colman Domingo gives a fine performance and it's better than his dull and baity "Rustin" performance which he should've never been nominated for at the Oscars, but he's still better at playing more complex challenging characters that have a more rocky past like on Euphoria. So whenever he plays characters that act out emotionally it feels really fake and forced. I don't know why so many people think this movie is going to get an Oscar nomination but if it does get in then there is something truly wrong with the film industry.
