American Arcadia features a refreshing tale that shows how to “subvert expectations,” making the plot a standout hit when compared to more mainstream narratives. On top of that, the variance in gameplay and the exceptional presentation act as extensions and support for an already excellent narrative.
American Arcadia covers a unique scenario with a great story and beautiful environments. Its mix of 2-D sidescrolling platforming sections and 3-D exploration of the outside world shakes up what could quickly become monotonous.

"American Arcadia" es un emocionante juego de plataformas 2D que te sumerge en la experiencia de "El Show de Truman". Controla a dos personajes con estilos de juego únicos mientras resuelves desafiantes rompecabezas de fondo. Taking six to eight hours to complete, I’ve blasted through American Arcadia in just two sittings, being utterly gripped the whole time. The side-scrolling platforming and first-person puzzle gameplay blend together seamlessly, with the story here being king. Despite a few small presentation issues that need ironing out, the gameplay here is flawless – and jumping from Angela’s first-person viewpoint to being in control of a side-scrolling Trevor via her computer monitor is nothing short of genius. If you enjoy adventure and puzzles, and like the sound of a story that’s reminiscent of The Truman Show, this is a game not to be missed.

With a strong atmosphere, interesting story, and engaging but fairly simple mix of puzzle and platforming gameplay, American Arcadia makes for a memorable place to visit - and escape from.
American Arcadia takes The Truman Show's core concept and updates it for the 2020s with a two-sided tale of escape, freedom and corporate control. The gameplay is mainly there to help deliver this story, but I always wanted Trevor to keep running to get me to the final moments and grand reveal.
American Arcadia isn't as memorable as Call of the Sea, and it has its frustrations, but overall this is a well presented adventure-platform game with an almost irresistible personality.
This is a completely MUST. One of my favorite games in 2023.
The way that both of the players interact with each other is just magic.

The game offers an unusual concept of controlling 2 main characters from the 3rd and 1st person, colorful visual, good smooth animations, interesting narrative solutions in the story, but how does all this drown in a 4-7 hour incredibly stretched duration, in terms of gameplay this a simple platformer where you have to quickly guess the timings or replay situtation 10 times until you succeed, but the solutions are very often not obvious, and for the girl we have cool tense situations.. or “tag” and other banal puzzles that are very spoil the pace of the “escape”, as if the devs simply didn’t know how to fill the niche, there are too many puzzles (the recent story-driven indie “Backfirewall_” also went overboard with this for some reason), the overall plot is quite simple, the final twist is predictable, and doesn`t have a clear ending and, accordingly, doesn`t give satisfaction,Try the demo, it's really interesting for the first 40 minutes, but the too simple mechanics made me sleepy, I always say and repeat: do less, but more intense, especially in the genre of dynamic escape, c`mon it's an escape! I love the game "Half-Life" : Caged", for example, which lasts only 30 minutes, but what a blast.

It seemed a nice game in the beginning but then the story got quite boring and repetitive. The puzzles are annoying from time to time and the dialogue is dull and the jokes are older than my grandmother. It looks and sounds good tho but I didn't even have the energy to finish this game.
